18/1/01 CELTIC 5 - SOUTH FLORIDA BULLS 1

Celtic cruised to a 5-1 win over Floridian college side South Florida Bulls. The scorers were Johnson, Sutton, Moravcik and an unfortunate own-goal Yank. There was never any chance that the hoops wouldn't win, however the home side got a goal back, in what could only be described as a walkover. Standout player Didier Agathe and his pace did more that enough to bring the win, if not the points!, back to Parkhead.

17/1/01 FAN FURY OVER FIASCO
Celtic have once again been caught up in a dispute with their kit suppliers Umbro. Parkhead bosses had planned to unveil the new strip in the club's official magazine today, but were forced to reveal it on their website last night after learning Umbro had leaked the design to a national newspaper. The row follows an earlier dispute when Celtic were forced to recall shirts that faded and fell apart when washed and had to hand out refunds to disgruntled supporters.
16/1/01 LARSSON EXPECTS TOUGH TIME IN TAMPA
Celtic striker Henrik Larsson insists the Parkhead side will be determined to maintain the form that has kept them at the top of the Scottish Premier League when they take on American side Tampa Bay. The Hoops will face the Florida side in a friendly during their week-long training camp in the Sunshine State. But Larsson has warned that the standard of football from Tampa Bay could be higher than expected.
14/1/01 LAMBERT SEASON HANGING ON ANKLE DECISION
Celtic midfielder Paul Lambert has admitted that his season could rest on a decision on Wednesday. The Scotland international will discover if he has any chance of playing again this season while the team are away in Florida. Lambert has travelled with the team to the US where he will put his ankle to the test after being out of action for almost three months.
11/1/01 MUNICH WANT ME TO STAY - RISETH
Celtic defender Vidar Riseth claims 1860 Munich are hoping to sign him on a permanent basis. The Norwegian international joined the German club on loan last year after failing to make a breakthrough into the Parkhead first team. But Riseth, set to face Aberdeen in Torremolinos next week, insists a permanent move would be very welcome.
10/1/01 BERKOVIC ULTIMATUM
Israel coach Richard Moller-Nielsen has given Eyal Berkovic an ultimatum to force his way into the Celtic side or quit the club and save his international career. Berkovic has fallen out of favour at Parkhead under manager Martin O'Neill and has voiced his concerns on numerous occasions. The 28-year-old has failed to start a match since the UEFA Cup defeat by HJK Helsinki on September 28 and is becoming increasingly bewildered at the club. Now the former West Ham star is under increasing pressure to do something about the situation with World Cup qualifiers on the horizon.
7/1/01 LENNON SINGS PRAISES OF CELTIC DUO
Celtic midfielder Neil Lennon has hailed Henrik Larsson and Chris Sutton as the best striker partnership in Britain. The Parkhead pair cost the club a combined sum of £6-65million, but have already bagged 46 goals between them this campaign. Lennon said: ''I knew Chris from my Leicester days and he always played well against us."
4/1/01 BOOKIES RECKON TITLE RACE IS OVER
Bookmakers Fred Done have started paying out on Celtic winning the Premier League. The Hoops are nine points clear of second-placed Hibernian going into the winter break but the bookies believe that Martin O'Neill's side have already captured the title. "The Scottish League race is over," said a spokesman for the bookmakers.
2/1/01 CELTIC 6 KILMARNOCK 0
HENRIK LARSSON celebrated the New Year with a quadruple and Chris Sutton a double as Celtic attempted to take the spirit out of the title chase with a destruction of Kilmarnock which will warm them going into the winter break. The dynamic duo now look set to emulate the partnership which Sutton forged with Alan Shearer in Blackburn's championship-winning year. There can be little doubt that this sort of form will bring the Scottish Premier League trophy back to Parkhead in 2001.

1/1/01 BHOYS REFUTE MacDONALD CLAIMS
Celtic have angrily hit back at remarks made by departed chief executive Allan MacDonald. The former British Aerospace executive marked his exit after 18 months in charge with a number of revelations about the club and his former colleagues. He claims that major shareholder Dermot Desmond's first choice as manager was Joe Kinnear and not Martin O'Neill.
